Planning to Camp at Totality 2024?

The weather forecast is looking good for the event! Sunny and warm during the day but it appears the temps could drop to the low-mid 30’s on the overnights. Tent sites are primitive, meaning you must bring all of your own supplies. We want to make sure you’re prepared!

Campsites are first-come, first-serve and are not marked. You can set up in our designated wooded camping area wherever feels like the right spot for you. All sites are allowed to have campfires within approved rings and pits. Plan to park your vehicle and carry your stuff to your campsite, we don’t allow you to park at your site for this event. We provide wagons you can use to haul your supplies, available on loan from the Ticket Booth. We provide bulk potable water stations where you can fill your bottles and jugs. We provide portapotties. No showers available.

If you purchased camping for Sunday, April 7th, you may arrive as early as 4pm that day and stay until the end of the event on Monday, April 8th. (9pm)

If you purchased camping for Monday, April 8th, you may arrive at the start of the event 12pm (unless you register for early-arrival by emailing thegaugerlodge@gmail.com) and you may stay until 11am on Tuesday, April 9th. No extended camping beyond these dates is available.

What to Bring

Tent: To sleep in!

Tarp: For under your tent, this creates an extra moisture barrier and can noticeably make your sleep more comfortable.

Sleeping bag: Bring a sleeping bag that’s meant for freezing or below-freezing temperatures.

Sleeping mat or air matress: To stay extra comfortable.

Extra blankets: To stay extra cozy!

Pillow: For your comfort.

Warm Clothes: Layers, layers, layers. We will also have crew neck sweatshirts available for sale at the General Store! See all merch!

Camping Chairs: To sit in at your campsite.

Folding table: We do not provide picnic tables, come prepared for campsite tasks.

Lantern/Flashlights: To navigate after dark.

Cooking Supplies: Plates, silverware, cups, French press, napkins, camp stove, anything you need to make your camping experience enjoyable.

Food: We will only have a food vendor on site between 12pm - 8pm on Monday, April 8th so if you’re planning to camp the evening of the 7th, make sure you bring dinner for yourself and breakfast the next morning! And if you’re staying the night of the 8th, maybe plan a breakfast for yourself the morning of the 9th.

Heat: These nights will be cold but are comfortably manageable if you come prepared! We recommend bringing a portable camping heater for your tent. No electricity is provided for campers, so we recommend the propane cannister types. We provide propane camping heaters for rental or purchase at our General Store as well as heating packs. Email thegaugerlodge@gmail.com for pricing inquiries or to reserve one for your campsite.

Important things to note:

Pick up your trash: We provide ample trash receptacles. Please do not litter cigarette butts. Please separate your trash from your returnable bottles and cans - ask us if you would like clarification on which is which. You can also separate your regular recycling from your trash if you’d like to go the extra mile! Ask at the Ticket Booth or General Store if you’d like us to provide a trash bag for your site!

We are pet friendly!: Your pups are fine with us! Bring Fido along for no charge for this event! We do require your pup to be leashed at all times and that you pick up and dispose of their droppings in our trash receptacles. We have ecofriendly bags available for this purpose. Ask at the General Store or Ticket Booth to acquire some.

Make sure campfire is completely extinguished before leaving your campsite: This applies to when you are checking-out, not when you are heading to the toilet. Very important to have your fire completely extinguished before leaving the venue.

We are a family built, owned and operated campground and event space: We work very hard to make and maintain this space for everyone to enjoy, please treat these grounds with respect and as if they were your own. We want to continue to provide access to this space for many more years to come. Interested in the family history? Visit this link.

Got questions during the event? Ask a staff or volunteer member at the Ticket Booth or General Store.

Please bring cash for all event purchases.
